It’s possible Bettany is a variant of Betony, or perhaps influenced by it .

Apart from it’s interesting history, Betony seems very usable as it’s so similar in sound to Bethany. It seems like a fresh modern twist on it.

I think it’s very usable, especially given its similarity to Bettany ala TV historian Bettany Hughes.
